I did a tremendous amount of research and studying in my search for the perfect dress - and this was IT!!! This is an amazingly beautiful, rare, detailed, timelessly classic, elegant, sophisticated, 100% SILK wedding gown. The dress did not need to be altered as it fit me like a glove. It is a size 10 and I am 5ft 5" and wear a 6/8 in regular clothes. Prior to the ceremony it was professionally taken care of by Ablitt's Fine Cleaners and Launderers. They performed their Specialized Wedding Gown Preparation. Before the wedding they went over every inch (inside and out) of the gown to ensure that there were no imperfections. They pressed the gown so that it was perfect for my big day. It was lightly worn for 6 hours and then once again professionally cleaned and this time also museum preserved with a lifetime guarantee against discoloration, mildew, etc. They even pay attention to the placement of the gown in the box to prevent permanent fold marks. The guarantee means that if you should desire it, they will repeat the whole process so that it once again looks impeccable. The pre-day cleaning, pressing, preparation process was $225 and the post day cleaning and preservation was $335. The gown is champagne in color. It is strapless with a low waist that has figure flattering pleats. It has a medium length train. There is beautiful beading detail that runs around the very top of the dress (around the bust), around the waist, and also around the very bottom of the dress- including the train. It has silk covered buttons that run down the back that hide the zipper. It also has all of the bustling mechanisms which are quite secure. After I bustled the gown I didn't have to touch it, rearrange it, or worry about it coming undone. The dress remains very beautiful even when bustled and is very easy to maneuver in when in either position. It is a very comfortable dress to wear. I was married outside in July on a warm day and I had no complaints. Other then the bottom hem getting a little soiled from the normal walking around and such, no other substances or dirt touched the dress. (Though it wouldn't have mattered if something HAD happened, because of the very thorough cleaning that occurred after it was worn.) Since it has been preserved and boxed, it has been stored in a cool, clean, dry space. The box has been opened 4 times and the dress has only been touched with the gloves that are provided to keep all dirt and oils from your hands off of it. The style of this dress is flattering on all body types. Any alterations that you may have to make will be easily accomplished and will not alter the integrity of the gown. I can wholeheartedly promise that should you purchase this wedding dress that you will be totally and utterly ecstatic with it. You will be effortlessly beautiful and feel like a perfect couture runway bride. I am willing to ship this gown internationally if you are willing to pay for the shipping and handling.
